What Happens When You Start Following Skin Care Directions

The key to skin care results are printed on the side of the bottle. There's a lot of magic that comes with using expensive skin care products.

The packaging is usually stunning and sturdy. Packed with a slew of beneficial ingredients that promise results within a few weeks! So give your skin the chance to soak up the goodness at her own pace.

Skin care isn't meant for instant results. The longer you use the product, the more chance it has to do what's promised on the package.

And you’ll never have to face the horror of an expired and expensive skin care or beauty product. That has never been touched!

The Usual Skin Care Process

An embarrassing amount of time after bringing home the coveted skin care. I skim the back label where they have the ingredients and instructions.

With a normal amount of caution for my skin's sake. While still considering the risk of adding something new to your face. After all, regardless of price, active ingredients in skin care can still be a breakout in the making.

Look at the ingredients of what skin care you prefer to use. See what’s the same between skin care products. It goes a long way towards helping figure out what it is works for specific skin concerns.

Your Skin Could be Even Better

It hits like a freight train. The obvious fact is that there's greater benefit when using products. When according to exact directions. When it comes to directions, do not correlate price! The money is already spent! It’s time to enjoy! Though, immediately after this realization. Of course, I rebound with my own "sensibility".

The little goes a long way approach I've had in my skincare routine had been working. The logic I'd held onto wasn't serving me. The hell with it then.

Take one month, consistently, and use your favorite skin care products as directed. Including duration and amount of times a week. They put it there for a reason and there’s no more excuses to why it wasn't worth wasting product.

Time to lean in to completely in the pampering process!

My Skin Care Line Up

- necessarie body peel (1-2 times a week or more if tolerated)

- peach and lily's reboot resurfacing mask (1 time a week for 15 minutes which I alternated with the aztec clay mask)

- olaplex no. 3 hair treatment (1 time a week for at least 15 minutes)

- farmacy honey potion mask ( 2-3 times a week or as often as wanted for 15 minutes)

I encourage you to try this self love ritual for at least one month. With products from your last beauty splurge! Don’t forget the expensive ones!

Give yourself the permission to enjoy using your products, even if they're expensive! I don't think there's enough reason to keep getting more without fully enjoying it.

Let your products work for you!

Giving products the long term treatment gives skin time to adjust. Absorbing all the benefits of each individual product or letting you know it’s not the right fit.

Try This Skin Care Ritual

Pick a day of the week. Maybe Wednesday. Wednesdays have always been my self care days.

Nothing says hump day like taking the day to make yourself look and feel beautiful.

Maybe self care Sundays!

Going into this experience, I used it as a way to test my discipline and give myself some much deserved alone time. As someone who wasn't as well versed in spending time alone, this gave me things to do.

Quality Time with Yourself via Skin Care

Along the way you’ll find fondness for yourself that had been hiding under the surface. This self love ritual introduces a beauty within yourself. That is delicate and detail focused.

It’s a reminder that you can keep promises to yourself. There is more to gain than guilt when using up the things you enjoy. After all, we buy things to enjoy them!

Learning Patience with my Skin

Skin care products aren't going to produce miracles. There isn’t suddenly a completely different person. You won’t look like the woman on Pinterest.

And you won't lose a less desirable aspect of yourself. No amount of money spent on a product in the world was going to do that.

My biggest breakthrough being, that I didn't want that anyways. I had finally found a way to celebrate myself.

Start looking forward to spending time alone with your skin. You’re capable of doing things that make you happy and help you move forward.

Self care isn’t being productive. Being productive has nothing to do with your societal contribution. It has everything to do with where you start.

Skin care helps you come into a place where you can navigate emotional burdens in a healthier manner. Let yourself find comfort in doing the things that make me feel good. Especially when it’s luxurious and expensive.

You deserve to feel pampered, expensive and well taken care of.

Pampered Skin is Happy Skin.

Money can buy happiness! I've noticed a huge difference in the frequency of my acne. Old stubborn acne scars mostly faded. My skin feels soft and supple. My skin tone feels more even.

When I wake up in the mornings I feel less dry.

When I look in the mirror I notice nuances in my texture that I can't quite put into words.

What you invest in grows. Invest in yourself and spend your time wisely. Time is never wasted in your own company.

What is your self love worth to you?
