Did You Know Makeup Benefits from Different Seasons?

Makeup is seasonal, seasons play a really underrated part in your everyday makeup routine. Understanding seasonal makeup helps you have routines you can count on. Minimizing the chances of sliding or cracking makeup. The less mishaps during the sacred time to get ready, the better! Not to mention, different styles of makeup for the season gives something to look forward to. And once the foundation is set (literally) then you’re open to possibilities that hadn’t even come to mind before.

Makeup is an art! As the artist, before investing in high quality tools and equipment. Invest in the technique! Seasons give a chance to take risks while minimizing that feeling that you’re doing too much than what the intended goal is! Makeup for the season is makeup that helps you embody what the season means for you. Embrace the fact that you won’t know right away. Embrace play and experiment with makeup by tailoring the makeup to the canvas!

Switching up your beauty routine doesn’t have to be day to day. Making small changes in your makeup routine for the season counts! There’s benefits to switching things up every once in a while. And, makeup is the perfect reason.

Base Makeup for Different Seasons

Adjusting your face makeup to the season saves so many headaches. One of the easiest ways to troubleshoot your routine is checking in with the season. Whether it’s a wet winter or a dry summer. Face makeup should sit comfortable on your skin without sliding off or cracking. The products you pick for seasonal weather are so important. Your favorite foundation is wearing differently because you’re using it in different weather.

In the summer, you want base makeup that prevents slickness. Primers that won’t budge, foundations that are more matte on the skin, and blushes with contours that add complement and add warmth. Summer is the perfect time to experiment with bright blushes that you wouldn’t normally gravitate towards, like purples and bright pinks. Buffing out your base with big fluffy brushes to give a diffused, lighter than air look.

Also be sure to adjust your sunscreen for the summer. Consider upping the SPF coverage and finding a more matte finish to prevent sunscreen from getting into the eyes. If you’re going to be out more in the summer. Also make sure to have makeup friendly reapplication for sunscreen to make sure that you don’t lose any coverage throughout the day.

In the winter, you want base makeup that keeps the skin glowy! Primers that give that glow from within, foundations that have a dewy finish, contours that frame the face with blushes that match your natural rosiness without being too bright. The winter months are the perfect season for cat eyes! Colors in the winter are flattering when they are monochromatic. Warming up the face, not necessarily brightening it.

Sunscreen in the winter can be more dewy and slightly tinted to help keep color on the face without leaving the skin completely unprotected. Regardless of weather, makeup friendly sunscreen is a big benefit to making sure that the makeup doesn’t look lifeless.

Things like setting sprays and setting powders are products that stay put in your makeup base routines because they fall into skin care. Use the setting sprays or setting powders that work best with your skin. Only adjust them when you’ve noticed a long term difference in the skin, regardless of season.

Switching Up Makeup Colors for the Season

Different seasons beckon for different colors. Have fun with adding more variations of colors in your makeup routine according to the seasons. Deep rich colors are a beautiful contrast to the winter. Airy, fun neons make summer feel more alive! It’s okay if the colors are similar regardless of season. The fun is in mixing shade and hue. After all, usually colors that flatter your skin tone all year around adds to the put together feel on the day to day. Adjusting to the season doesn’t have to mean doing a complete 180.

When considering color, consider two things. Your skin’s undertone and how even your skin tone is overall. The skin’s undertone will determine how a particular color will look on your skin as compared to the packaging. The skin’s even tone depends on whether you have hyperpigmentation. Including hyperpigmentation on the eyelids. These two things will save you so much grief in regards to how a color looks on your skin versus in the packaging or online.

How to Mix Seasonal Aspects of Makeup

Sometimes seasons can be unpredictable. The last safety net is going to be taking from one season and mixing it to another. Maybe come winter you do an airy, glossy lip with a hint of neon. The fun in makeup is knowing that the makeup hack that comes with experience. Knowing that you can take aspects from your winter staples and hint to it in the summer months. You can come out the other side with something that is flattering and put together. While being absolutely iconic because what flatters every person is different.

Seasonal textures and colors are typically meant to be complimentary. The more practice and play. The better you’ll know which colors and textures work best with your skin. And, make the best of the features you already have. Practicing something different at the start of a season might feel daunting at first. The more you do it though, personality will come through. A winter color can work beautifully with a glossy finish. A summer neon lip can add that extra something missing from a winter look.

The only way you’ll know how to make the seasons work for you is to invest time to play. Blend your eyeshadows and try different texture face products. What makes a seasonal part of makeup is the longevity and complimentary feel. Beyond that, the possibilities are endless. When matched with a good outfit, the world cannot deny you!
